On 8–9 July 2026, a specialized training course dedicated to the preparation of project proposals for the Horizon Europe programme was held at the headquarters of Łukasiewicz – PIAP. The event brought together experts from the Industry Contact Points (BPKs) and representatives of Łukasiewicz – ITECH, the coordinator of the BPK network, who are responsible for securing funding for research and innovation projects from European funds.
A Shared Goal: Providing More Effective Support for Businesses and Researchers
The main objective of the training was to deepen participants’ knowledge, exchange experiences, and explore European best practices in preparing successful Horizon Europe project proposals. The competencies gained during the training will enable participants to provide even more effective support to companies, startups, research institutes, and universities seeking access to European funding opportunities.
Horizon Europe is the European Union’s largest research and innovation funding programme. Success in securing funding depends not only on an innovative idea but also on the ability to build international partnerships and create strong consortia that combine the expertise of organizations from across Europe.
From Idea to Funding: The Complete Project Preparation Path
The training was delivered by experts from FundingBox, an organization specializing in supporting entities interested in obtaining European funding and developing international innovation ecosystems.
The programme covered all key stages of project preparation, including:
- analysing Horizon Europe requirements and evaluation criteria,
- preparing competitive project proposals,
- building and managing international consortia,
- identifying and effectively engaging project partners,
- assessing potential partners in terms of expertise and added value,
- presenting one’s organization as an attractive partner for European projects,
- budget planning and developing the project’s business rationale,
- practical aspects of managing EU-funded projects.
Exchange of Experience and Best Practices
A key element of the event was the exchange of knowledge among experts with extensive experience in implementing international projects and securing funding from European programmes. The workshop-based format encouraged discussions around real-life challenges, analysis of practical cases, and the sharing of proven solutions and practical recommendations.
Initiatives such as this contribute to continuously improving the quality of support provided by the Industry Contact Points and enable them to better respond to the needs of entrepreneurs and members of the research community interested in participating in Horizon Europe.
